Norton Barrie was established in 1969 by Barrie Norton at the height of the Carnaby Street revolution. Barrie successfully brought this revolution to the north, making Norton Barrie into a destination store. The original Norton Barrie store was opened in Chorlton and although it moved location in 1999 it is world renowned to celebrities from the world of sport and film.
Famous clients in those days were the likes of George Best and The Drifters. Through the decades we styled fashion conscious TV personalities including; Paul Nichollas, Roy Walker, Chris Tarrant and Jeremy Paxman. More recently we have also styled musicians such as M People, Happy Mondays as well as singers Mick Hucknall and Russell Watson.
Barrie always had a love for sport and throughout the years dressed all the local teams for different sporting occasions including Man Utd's FA Cup teams and also Lancashire cricket teams.
In 2008, Barrie sadly passed away and the business was taken over by his son Blake who with his team has continued with Barrie's philosophy of unique styling with a point of difference and a personal service. Clients more recently include; David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, Rio Ferdinand, Robin Van Persie, Yaya Toure and Wayne Rooney.
Norton Barrie is now approaching 50 years of business, dressing the stylish men of the north. We currently have 2 stores located in Bolton and Wilmslow. Find out more about our stores >
